CARDI/IICA/ACM Excellence in Caribbean Agricultural Journalism Awards 2011

The Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI), Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and Association of Caribbean MediaWorkers (ACM) announce the launch of the First Excellence in Caribbean Agricultural Journalism Awards.

The Awards are open to all Caribbean full-time and freelance journalists in the print, broadcast and online media and is designed to reward excellence in the reporting of food and agriculture issues at local and regional levels.

The competition covers work published or broadcast between May 1, 2010 and April 30, 2011. Submissions close on June 1, 2011.

Target

Full time and freelance journalists/ photojournalists working with print, new media, radio and television.

Prizes

There will be one overall winner in each category. The winners will each receive a cash prize of US$1,200 and a trip to Dominica to participate in Caribbean Week of Agriculture activities during the first week of October, 2011. Separate trip arrangements will be made for winners from Dominica.
