CTA, CARDI & ACM team up on Agriculture
St Georges, Grenada, October 16, 2010 – Issues affecting agricultural development in the region, including the role of the media, will be discussed in Grenada next week when the island hosts the Caribbean Week of Agriculture (CWA). The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) and the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI) have partnered with the Association of Caribbean Mediaworkers (ACM) in organising the week-long event that begins on Sunday (October 17).
A number of regional journalists will join Caribbean and international policy makers in discussing a wide range of issues, including a common understanding of the challenges facing agriculture, rural development and related sectors, with emphasis on data collecting. A guide for journalists in covering food, farming, fisheries and other agricultural issues as well as efforts towards creating a cadre of reporters specialising in agriculture will also be among the topics discussed during the event.
